On today’s article I will share with you the 10 Things I like the most about my job.
On today’s article I’m going to share my experience and feelings about spending important days at sea.
I hadn’t visited it since i was a kid and I loved reliving the experience. I felt like a kid in a toy store.
Penguins are simply the cutest thing ever!
This was my first week of vacation from school, but that didn’t mean I had less work. Since the last weeks of the semester are always very busy I always leave some of my responsibilities at home undone. XD
I love heat, but these 40ºC that have been going on in the last few weeks are way too much!
I really like animals. I live in a villa with 7 pets. 4 dogs, 3 cats and even some chickens. They fill me with love and joy. I do think that not having animals on board is one of the things that will be harder for me.
This are two of my cuties:
I also took some time this week to return in full strength to my routine of daily exercises, sandwiching cardeo with strength training ????
As if I didn’t have enough activities already, I decided to start a new one. I started learning Italian. I think that knowing more languages is always an advantage, both personally and professionally, especially for me since in the future I’ll be traveling around the world.
I chose to learn this language because more than loving to hear people speak Italian if someone forced me to change my country I would definitely pick Italy. Italy is also in Southern Europe and has the second best food. The best of course is ours (Portugal), of course! 😛
Wednesday night I went to the movies to see “Wonder Woman” and I liked it a lot. It’s a very action-packed, fun movie with a very interesting storyline.
it’s good to know that today’s girls might have the luck I did not have, to watch quality superhero movies with women as protagonists (believe me it’s more important than it may seem).
Friday I went to the Albufeira’s lagoon for the first time. No offense to the lovers of this place, but for me the beaches of Sintra are much better (it has nothing to do with living here ahaha). The water temperature of the lagoon itself was good, but lacking in depth and the sand was quite thick with shells.
And so a week goes by without even realizing it 😀
This week I will go to the opening of the exhibition “Sea is life” (“Mar é Vida” in the original) of the organization David Melgueiro in Torres Vedras. On the fifth and sixth I will go to the Third Conference of the Journal of the Economy of the Sea.
I made so many things that, if you had asked last year, I would told you that couldn´t be possible. From doing the first Tuna festival of our college ENIDH on the first year of our Tuna, repair a sailboat, doing this blog and still have a good grades.
The Tuna festival, 1º Infante, was particularly challenging, once I was the treasurer of such recent Tuna. It was a little bit difficult to manage all the money involved for the festival. Fortunately everything turned out just fine, even though we had some disagreements and misunderstood inside our management team, with the help of the rest of the group, we overcame our problems and made our Tuna better.
I feel that I have grown a lot, both in maturity, organization and teamwork. Reconciling all my activities was often not easy and required a few hours of sleep.
During this last week, in addition to the usual tests one after the other, we had the last two Tuna performances in this school year.
Friday night we had a sunset party where both my Tuna and Tunística performed.
In the early afternoon we took the opportunity to make a peddypaper with the Deneb and Betas (youngest) of the tuna. In my game (the one i was organizing) they had to find 10 glasses and assemble them into pyramid.
In the end they all received a badge related to the Tuna, except one of them that received two, because in addition to the normal emblem, received the emblem of our Tuna for having climbed to Gama (the highest hierarchy).
In the first years of life of a Tuna, it should choose another older and more experienced Tuna to ask for sponsorship. The godmother tuna serves to guide the young tuna in the best way, explaining how they should act, rehearse and inprove the Tuna spirit.
We chose Tunística for godmother, because besides being a tuna we admire a lot, they had already played in an important ceremony at school in 2015, when our Tuna hed not been created yet.
Tunística played around 2100 and Nautituna around 2130. After that we officialized the request and we offered a small version of Marilu that was Marilu II and they gave us an acoustic guitar. We both talked and in the end we sang together, which was a bit confusing because we have different ways of singing the same songs …
On Saturday we had our last performance, in the festivals of Oeiras, and now we won’t beback together performing until September ????
At 2000 (8 o’clock pm) of the 15th, our astronomical navigation class’ teacher told us that the night class was cancelled due to bad weather. I was super excited about the class so I was a little disappointed but not too much since it meant I could go the serenades that happen during the academic week (explanation time: the academic week or semana académica as we call it in Portugal, is an event that lasts a week and its meant to celebrate university students, there are lots of concerts and hang-outs and we all get to be dressed in our cool academic suits, same ones I wear when i’m singing with the Tuna (check that article 😉
